Appointed as a member of the National Steering Committee for formulation of the ADR Policy

Dr. Kariuki Muigua has been appointed as a member of the National Steering Committee for formulation of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Policy. He represents the Academia. This is a committee formed by the Hon. Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya P. Kihara Kariuki. The Committee is chaired by Mr. John Ohaga. The term of the Committee shall be for a period of one hundred and sixty days but the Attorney General may extend its term.
The functions of the Committee include providing guidance and overseeing the process for formulation of a national policy and institutional framework on Alternative Dispute Resolution. The Committee is also mandated inter alia to propose appropriate amendments to legal instruments with a view of harmonizing the practices, standards for accreditation training and provision of ADR services.
The Committee is supposed to consult with key stakeholders in the Alternative Dispute Resolution field. It may also carry out studies or research as may inform the steering committee on its mandate.
The appointment is a great honour to Dr. Kariuki Muigua. He promises to serve with diligence and assist the Committee to deliver on its mandate. Dr. Kariuki Muigua is a renowned academic with research interests in the ADR and Environmental fields. He is the author of the following books:

He is also a practitioner in the firm of Kariuki Muigua & Co. Advocates a top tier firm specializing in commercial law, ADR and Environmental Law.
