Naomi Nyawira Njuguna
Overview
Naomi consults with Kariuki Muigua & Company Advocates on International Commercial Law, Company Law and Corporate regulation and governance. Naomi was a pupil for two years at the prestigious firm of Kaplan & Stratton Advocates before joining our firm as an associate specializing in commercial law practice and commercial litigation. She is the former Head of Department of Private Law at Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi. Currently, teaches at the University of Nairobi.
Given her graduate and post-graduate legal education in United Kingdom specializing in International Commercial law and comparative corporate regulation, Naomi brings to the firm a global perspective on corporate and commercial law. This wide perspective, tempered with local bar-qualification training at Kenya School of Law and first-rate experience in corporate practice while in legal practice, gives her the cutting edge as an expert in corporate governance and regulatory compliance. The firm taps Naomi’s perspective on corporate law to deliver pro-active corporate regulatory and reporting compliance services to its local, regional and multinational corporation clients.
Naomi is a leading law scholar in commercial law. She served as a resident tutor during her graduate studies at the University of Manchester. She has also been a Business law lecturer at Kenya School of Professional Studies. She currently lectures commercial law and supervises advanced legal research at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Her areas of specialization and research interests include International Commercial and Corporate Law and International Economic Law with a bias toward how law and legal reforms influence economic development in developing countries.
